Our Involvement:
_Team Initiatives: Past Projects
Practicum Teaching Experience:
Working with our students from Kititimo Centre at their schools and providing support and resources to the Head Teachers (Principal) and staff.
Upon each trip to Tanzania, the team makes an effort to visit and tour each school, work in the classrooms with teachers and students, and hold an Information and Brainstorming event that builds a partnership with the Tanzanian Teachers and the Canadian Teachers.
A big investment has also been made to work and partner with the Tanzania Government and Ministry of Education to create and develop a working plan that will allow all of our student’s access to a proper education.
This is an on-going imitative and takes a great deal of commitment and care in creating a true partnership and developing a plan that fits the needs of the students at the Kititim Centre.

Education:
In the past there have been various attempts and efforts made to provide proper and adequate Education to all the students from the Kititmo Centre. With so many ‘needs’ it is often difficult to keep up with these projects, but the best efforts and supports are made to ensure the best possible Educational experience for our students. However, this is still a HUGE need in all of the student’s lives. Lack of recourses, improper facilities and equipment needed to study (lights, desks, chairs) have all been, and continue to be, a major concern for our students.
Past Educational Initiatives:
Nutrition:
There have been various projects focusing on Nutrition done throughout each trip. An important area of improvement for Kititimo centre is focusing on proper Health and Nutrition intake. Trying to ensure that the students and staff of Kititimo are receiving a proper balanced diet, has been an on going project and continues to be a main focus in helping to support and care for the students.
Past Nutritional Initiatives:
Development:
One area that has always been a big concern is the need to create a ‘home’ for the students at Kititimo. Much effort has been focused on developing a centre that allows the students to feel at home, and to feel proud to call their home. Currently there is still a great deal of development that needs to happen at the Centre, but past teams have worked diligently in the attempt to provide as much stability and comfort as possible.
